Ata Anı Evi

Located at the spot where Atatürk watched Izmir and drank coffee on September 9, 1922, the Ata Memorial House reminds visitors of the old war years and also learns about the War of Independence and Atatürk. The Ata Memorial House, which is especially popular with schools, fosters visitors’ love for Atatürk and their awareness of the Republic.

The venue, which was opened by Bornova Municipality, features items from the occupation years, photographs and models representing the military and public movements of the period. The informative videos and documentaries shown at the Memorial House, which also contains many books about Atatürk, also provide emotional moments for visitors.

The equipment used by Greek soldiers is also exhibited in the venue so that the military equipment of the period can be compared. There are also many written works, pictures and maps depicting the War of Independence and Atatürk.

The 16.5-meter giant Atatürk Statue, with items from the 9 September Liberation Day and the War of Independence and a special library consisting only of books about Atatürk, was organized by the Bornova Municipality and opened to visitors on 9 September 2016.
