Bornova Municipality’s popular summer swimming program once again attracted great attention this year. Registrations, which opened on July 16, were quickly completed, and lessons begin on Monday, July 21. All sessions will be conducted in clean, safe environments with professional coaching.

Swimming Education for All Ages

The courses are designed for both children aged 9–15 and adults. Lessons are held twice a week in 45-minute sessions. Participants can choose between Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday sessions, depending on availability.

Trainings take place at the Işıkkent Muhammet Yıldız Sports Complex and the Çamdibi Dr. Şaban Acarbay Swimming Pool. Between the indoor and outdoor pools, 650 citizens receive swimming instruction each month.

Mayor Eşki: “Sports at Every Age, Health Under Every Condition”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki highlighted the importance of summer sports activities not only for physical health but also for social development:

“In Bornova, sports are not just for professionals — they are a right for all. It’s especially important that children get to interact with water at an early age, as it supports their confidence and physical development. We’re thrilled by the strong interest in our swimming courses and will continue expanding sports opportunities for all Bornovalılar.”
