Bornova’s Queens Reach the Top Without Losing a Set

Undefeated Team Meets with Mayor Eşki

The Bornova Belediyespor Girls' Volleyball Team finished first in their group in the İzmir Development League, winning all their matches without dropping a single set. The players celebrated their success over breakfast with Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, joined by their coaches and club officials. Mayor Eşki congratulated the entire team, emphasizing that their investment in youth development is clearly paying off.

The young athletes, who completed the season undefeated in Group G of the İzmir Development League, met with Mayor Ömer Eşki for a breakfast event to celebrate their achievements.

“Future volleyball stars will rise from Bornova”

Expressing his pride in the team’s accomplishments, Mayor Ömer Eşki said, “Sports is important not only for physical development but also for character building. At Bornova Belediyespor, we place great importance on our youth programs. These kinds of successes show that we are on the right path. I wholeheartedly congratulate our girls and their coaches.”

“The road to success: hard work, determination, and team spirit”

Team coach Fulya Tırpancı noted that they finished the 2024–2025 season at the top of their group without losing a single set: “I thank our girls for their hard work. This is the result of disciplined training and strong team spirit.”

From Bornova to Göztepe and the Turkish Women’s Volleyball League

Hasret Tuncer, who was developed through Bornova Belediyespor’s youth system and recently transferred to Göztepe, a team in the Turkish Women’s Volleyball League (Sultanlar Ligi), shared her gratitude: “I played at Bornova Belediyespor for a year. Tomorrow I’ll join my first training session with Göztepe. I’m truly grateful to everyone who contributed to my journey.”

“I’ve been part of this family for five years”

Mira, who started playing volleyball at a young age with Bornova Belediyespor, also shared her thoughts: “I’ve been in this club for five years. It has given me so much. I sincerely thank everyone who has supported me.”
